International Examinations

None of our students is obliged to sit for any kind of exam. Nonetheless, we consider that in certain cases the acknowledgement that an international certificate provides is unique as it allows those who achieve it to get scholarships or to enter worldwide successful universities, as well as when moving or working abroad as these certificates prove to be extremely useful. Bearing in mind these factors, we work with our students and guide them into achieving their goals
     
At Britannia we train students for the following examinations:

First Certificate in English University of Cambridge
ESOL Examinations Level B2 of Common European Framework of Reference for Languages.

This examination tests the ability to handle the language with some confidence and use appropriate communicative strategies in a variety of social situations. FCE has a widespread recognition in commerce and industry. Many universities recognise FCE for English language entrance requirements

Certificate in Advanced English
University of Cambridge -  ESOL Examinations
Level C1 of Common European Framework of Reference for Languages.

At this level, learners are expected to use the language with ease and fluency. They are aware of the relationship between the language and the culture it exists in, and the significance of register. They are able to adapt their language use to a variety of social situations, express opinions, and take part in discussions and arguments in a culturally appropriate way. CAE is recognised as fulfilling English language entrance requirements by many universities and higher bodies across the world.

University of Cambridge – ESOL Examinations
Level C2 of Common European Framework of Reference for Languages.

At this level the learner is approaching the linguistic competence of an educated native speaker, and is able to use the language by extending their vocabulary and refining their usage and command of style and register rather than by learning about new areas of grammar. Their level of competence gives them access to the press and other media, and to areas of the culture such as drama, film and literature. Success at this level may be seen as a proof that the learner is able to cope with high level academic work. CPE is recognised by the majority of British universities for English language entrance requirements. It is also widely recognised throughout the world by universities, institutes of higher education, professional bodies and in commerce and industry as an indication of a very high level of competence in English
